Jimmie D. Holmes CREAL SPRINGS-Jimmie D. Holmes, 46, of Creal Springs passed away at 6:27 AM, Friday, October 8, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Matt Troxel and Reverend Gary Holmes officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday, October 11, 2010 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Spring Hill Cemetery, southeast of Marion. Memorials may be made to Jimmie's children’s education fund; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL, 62959. Jimmie was born on September 1, 1964 in Marion to Douglas Gilbert & Katherine (Stokes) Holmes. He married Marcy Mosher on June 13, 1988 in Paducah, Kentucky; she survives of Creal Springs. Survivors include his wife; children, Zachary & Ashley Holmes of Marion and Sarah Holmes of Creal Springs; father, of Creal Springs; brothers and sisters, Noble & Lori Holmes, Vicky & Doug Babb, Lisa & Harry Simpson, Doug & Leisa Holmes, and Michael & Jeanie Holmes; mother-in-law, Kathleen Ray; father-in-law, Bill Mosher; 38 nieces and nephews; 19 great-nieces and nephews; several brothers and sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by his mother; brothers, Eugene “Gibby” Holmes, Donny Holmes, and Randy Holmes. Jimmie worked for the Williamson County Highway Department. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, car racing, being outdoors, and hunting. Jimmie was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 318.
