Jessie William Edwards CREAL SPRINGS-Jessie William Edwards, 92, of Creal Springs went to be with the Lord at 10:05 AM, Friday, February 10, 2006. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, February 13, 2006 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend John Burnett officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 Am to 1:00 PM, Monday, February 13, 2006 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Creal Springs Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mr. Edwards was born on September 5, 1913 in Williamson County, Illinois to Oscar and Josie (Howerton) Edwards. He married Lorene Doss in February of 1934; she preceded him in death on February 14, 1966. Survivors include son, James Edwards of Dykersburg; son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Judy Edwards of Creal Springs; daughter, Verna Lee Payne of Crab Orchard; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and brother, Ralph Cantrell of Marion. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; daughter-in-law, Ruth Ann Edwards; son-in-law, Clarence Payne; a great granddaughter; and two brothers. Mr. Edwards worked in construction. He was a member of the Laborers Union Local 773 for over 50 years. He loved the outdoors.
