Jerry White

Jerry Dale White, 64, of Marion passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 9:55 PM at his residence. Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, February 26, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Dr. Bob Wagner & Dr. Judith Ridlen officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. A time of gathering for family and friends will precede the service from noon until the service hour at the funeral home on Sunday. Memorial donations are suggested to Carmi Baptist Children’s Home; envelopes will be available during services or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL, 62959. Jerry was born on Saturday, March 1, 1947 in Herrin to Claude & Frieda (Ridlen) White. Mr. White is survived by his mother; brother, Gail & Linda White of Murphysboro; several cousins, nieces & nephews and close friend & business partner, Jerry M. Barrass. Jerry was preceded in death by his father. Mr. White was a member of the 2nd Baptist Church in Marion. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #318. Jerry owned and operated, Jerry D. White Construction and Equipment. His business partner, Jerry M. Barras, will continue to manage operations in his absence. Mr. White touched the lives of all he knew and met, and will be greatly missed through out the community.
