Jerry D. Harris CREAL SPRINGS-Jerry D. Harris, 42, of Creal Springs passed away at 8:35 PM, Monday, March 24, 2008 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, March 28, 2008 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Memorials may be made to the Hickory Grove Baptist Church; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Jerry was born August 18, 1965 in Marion to Royce W. and Dorothy (Stone) Harris. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Derek and Angie Harris; son, Jerrod Harris; mother and step-father, Dorothy and Donnie Odom; sister and brother-in-law, Janie and B.J. Pettigrew; brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Pam Harris; sister, Destiny Franklin; grandmother, Edna Howell; nieces and nephews, Shane Pettigrew, Autumn Martin, Clint Pettigrew, Ken Harris, Royce Harris and Valerie Martin; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Royce W. Harris and his grandfather, Leslie Stone. He was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Marion. He was previously employed at the VA Medical Center in Marion for 19 years. He was a member of the IBEW local.
