Jeffrey Lind Avery

Jeff Avery MARION-Jeff Avery, 55, of Marion passed away suddenly at 6:00 PM, Saturday, August 1, 2009 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 7, 2009 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Mike Ebert officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home. Jeff was born March 7, 1954 in Marion to Robert F. and Anna Ruth (Horn) Avery. Survivors include his parents, Bob and Ann Avery of Marion; brother and sister-in-law, Robin and Juni Avery of Benton; sister and brother-in-law, Cara and Mark Lewis of Marion; nephews, Kyle Avery of Herrin, Brian and B.J. Lewis of Marion and Chip Moss of Benton; niece, Kaci Avery of Benton; great nephew, Maxim Chase Avery; and aunts, Betty Steh and Terra Baker. Jeff worked as a carpenter and a truck driver. He was a big joker and loved working in his yard. Southern Illinois has lost a great musician, songwriter, a wonderful friend, and the best son and brother. Even with his death he continued to help others by being an organ donor. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
