Jeanne Rose Walters

Jeanne Rose Walters, age 85, of Marion, Illinois, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, Illinois.

Jeanne was born April 25, 1939 in Desi, France, a daughter of Rene and Paulette (Truaud) Moinard. She married the love of her life, Charles Walters on January 02, 1992 in Cook County, Illinois. Prior to her retirement, Jeanne was the proud owner and operator of her family's Ace Hardware Store.

She is survived by her husband- Charles Walters; two children- Ada (Bruce) Peterson and Patrick (Sally) Zamkin; stepchildren- Charles Walters III, Debbie Zalinski, Christine Walters, Deanna Fairchild, and Danny Walters; five grandchildren- Michael Hooten, James (Rachel) Hooten, Eric (Jessica) Hooten, Lilia Zamkin and Benjamin Zamkin; three siblings- Renee Schiele, Paul Moinard, and Jean Moinard; four great grandchildren- Michael, Emma, Zoey, and Lily Hooten; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents- Rene and Paulette (Truaud) Moinard and one sister- Alice Moinard.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 31st, 2024 from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. A funeral mass will begin at 10:00am on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Brian Barker officiating. Burial will take place on Friday at the Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery in Alsip.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Shriner's or St. Jude Children Research Hospital.
