Jeanetta R. Bays MARION-Jeanetta R. Bays, 76, of Marion passed away at 10:32 PM, Saturday, October 25, 2008 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM, until the time of the service on Tuesday evening at the funeral home. A private burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Mrs. Bays was born January 28, 1932 in Williamson County, Illinois to William W. and Lillian (Parks) Peebels. She married Arthur Bays on April 5, 1963 in Kentucky; together they shared 45 years of marriage. Survivors include her husband, Art Bays of Marion; children, Sherry and Curt Emery of Dongola, Vicki and Jeff Boaz of Creal Springs, Bill and Brenda Lowe of Marion, Suzanne and Fred Sappington of Goreville, David Lowe of Marion and Pam and Bruce Mandrell of Longmont, Colorado; grandchildren, Randy and Julie Emery, Danny Emery, Vicki Lynn Boaz, Dawn and Kenny Clendenin, Michael and Angie Boaz, Shawn and Shelly Sappington, Jessica and Joey Funk, Zack Lowe, Shannon Lowe, Patrick and Wilma Bays, Amber Mandrell and Dustin Mandrell; thirteen great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Ellen Peebels of Simpson; and sister, Kathleen Meneese of Marion. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, William A. Peebels, Thomas F. Peebels, Rex G. Peebels and Gene Peebels. Mrs. Bays along side her husband Art, owned and operated Bays Grocery Store in Marion for many years. She was of the Baptist faith. She loved to read, do crafts and make quilts.
