Goreville-Jean Brenningmeyer, 92, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at her home. Jean was born on December 31, 1924 in McCracken County, KY to Hugh and Stella (McChristian) Long. She married Kenneth Brenningmeyer on April 15, 1945 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Massac County. He preceded her in death on May 1, 1977. Jean was a member of Goreville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed bird watching, growing flowers and plants and spending time with friends and family. Survivors include: Children: David and Sue (Bazor) Brenningmeyer of Dongola Donna and Buddy Bremer of Massac County Dennis and Sheryl (Gulley) Brenningmeyer of Goreville Seven grandchildren 14 great grandchildren Nephew-Roy Peeler Jr. and wife Donna of Benton, KY She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Katherine Sanderson and two infant siblings. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 10am at Goreville United Methodist Church with Rev. Andy Black officiating. Burial will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Metropolis. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 5pm-8pm at the church. Blue Funeral Home in Goreville is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorial donations are suggested to Goreville United Methodist Church or Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the church or Blue Funeral Home/ PO Box 411/ Marion, IL 62959.
