Janie Shoemaker

Creal Springs—Janie Shoemaker, age 65, passed away at 8:00pm on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at her home with her husband and daughters by her side. Funeral services for Mrs. Shoemaker will be on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Jim Slone and Roger Rodd officiating. Interment will follow in Reynoldsburg Church Cemetery in Ozark. A time of gathering for family and friends will precede the services from 10-11 AM at the funeral home. Janie was born in Harrisburg on Thursday, July 10, 1947, the daughter of Loren and Melba (Cross) Tyner. She married Larry Shoemaker on Friday, September 8, 1967 in New Burnside. They had recently celebrated 45 years of marriage; he survives of Creal Springs. She is survived by her husband, Larry; daughters, Trina Wiese and Krista & Brandon Green; grandchildren, Austin & Alexis Wiese and Makenzie Green; sister, Vicki Scates. Janie was preceded in death by her parents. Janie was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Marion. She had a special group of ladies she shared Bible study time with on Tuesday mornings. These ladies held a very special place in her heart and the time she spent with them was always cherished. Janie enjoyed spending her Sunday afternoons taking long drives, discovering new roads and seeing where they would lead. Three of her proudest accomplishments in life were her grandchildren, Austin, Lexi and Kenzie. As a grandmother, a big part of her life was ensuring that her three angels wanted for nothing. There was not a football game, baseball game, dance recital or school program that grandma did not attend.
