Jane A. Edwards MARION-Jane A. Edwards, 70, of Marion passed away at 3:45 PM, Monday, July 24, 2006 at home surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 27, 2006 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Edward “Shorty” Alsip officiating . Visitation will be held from 9:00 until 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 24, 2006 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Mrs. Edwards was born October 22, 1935 in Williamson County, Illinois to Lloyd and Reba (Doris) Rains. She married Melvin Lee Edwards on August 10, 1957 in Corinth, Illinois; he preceded her in death on August 8, 1996. Survivors include son, Mel Edwards of Marion; nieces and nephews, Rhonda and Keith Soldner, Bobby and Shirley Rains, Wayne and Debbie Fosse, Jo Chandler, David and Jeanie Shadowens, Cathy and Malcolm Jones, Bobby and Jan Shadowens, and Tim and Tina Mandrell; and sisters-in-law, Donna Peebles and Shirley Mandrell. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Mrs. Edwards was a homemaker. She was a member of the Marion Eagles and the Williamson County Craft Club. She was of the Baptist Faith.
