James Richard Hughes MARION-James Richard Hughes, 57, of Marion passed away at 5:40 AM, Monday, January 5, 2009 at Herrin Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend David Nolen officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Carterville. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or American Cancer Society; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mr. Hughes was born January 10, 1951 in Crab Orchard, Illinois to Harry and Myrtle Jeanette (Beasley) Hughes. He married Rosann Collins on June 15, 1980; together they shared 28 years of marriage. Survivors include his wife, Rosann Hughes of Marion; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Andrew Beltz of Harrisburg; son and daughter-in-law, John and Rhonda Woods of Marion; grandchildren, Kristen Bergfeld, J.J. Woods, Cassandra Woods, Reagan Woods, Jenann Woods and Sarah Bergfeld; great grandchildren, William Bergfeld; brothers and sisters-in-law, Keith and Debbie Hughes of Stonefort and Leon and Becca Hughes of Whiteash; sisters, Phyllis Davis of Whiteash and Irene Wright of Marion; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Hughes was a member of Honeycomb Church of God in Karber Ridge. He was employed by the Wal-mart Corporation. He was formerly a member of Laborers Local 773. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan, enjoyed football, attending Crab Orchard basketball games, league bowling and fishing with his brother, Keith.
