James Lloyd Welborn MARION-James Lloyd Welborn, 61, of Marion formerly of Goreville passed away at 4:30 PM, Thursday, May 21, 2009 at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Sunday, May 24, 2009 at the Blue Funeral Home in Goreville with Reverend R. G. Null officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday May 23, 2009 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Mr. Welborn was born on July 5, 1947 in Williamson County to Clarence and Oma (Plough) Welborn. He married Brenda Stowers on April 20, 1998 in Marion; together they shared 11 years of marriage. Survivors include his wife Brenda of Marion; step-daughter and son-in-law, Kim & Mike Marks of O’Fallon; step-grandson, Dustin & Amy Marks; sister, Barbara Jenkins of Goreville; nephew Gayland & Elizabeth Jenkins of Goreville; niece, Sarah Jenkins of Herrin; and his special friend “Scooter”. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Carl Jenkins. James loved to play music and played in several bands.
