James D. Stout

October 13, 2014 Buncombe- James D. Stout, 67, of Buncombe, passed away at 6:19 PM, Friday, October 10, 2014 at Fulton County Hospital in Wauseon, OH. Mr. Stout was born on December 24, 1946 in Anna to Lois Ord and Elsie (Baker) Stout.  He married Joyce Hickam on July 15, 1977 at Ferne Clyffe State Park.  She survives of Anna. James was a US Army veteran who proudly fought for his country as a helicopter and vehicle mechanic during Vietnam.  Once honorably discharged, he returned back to the states to begin a long career as an over the road trucker.  He worked for various companies throughout his forty year career, most recently at Roof Bolt Express in Marion. James was protestant and a life member of Carol Pete Foster Post #345 in Anna.  He loved meeting people and spending time with his family.  Children could not resist his “Donald Duck” voice and his endearing personality.  He was a motorcycle and dirt track racing enthusiast who owned a chromed out Harley Davidson and followed NASCAR favorites Dale Jr. and Jeff Gordon.  His CB handle was “Quarter Horse” and most people knew him as such.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Jason Forby will officiate.  Burial will follow at Ebeneezer Hall Cemetery in Lick Creek and military rites will be performed at graveside by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 in Anna with assistance from the Illinois National Guard.  Visitation will be from 5-8:00 PM, Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Blue Funeral Home in Goreville. Due to medical reasons, the family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the family and will be accepted at Blue Funeral Home/ 812 S. Broadway/Goreville, IL   62939.
