Herrin-James Neil Craddock of Herrin, Illinois passed away Friday February 7, 2014 at his residence.
He was born July 4, 1953 in Jacksonville, Illinois, the son of Hugh P. and Lela R. (Guthrie) Craddock.
He is survived by two brothers, Daniel J. (wife, Jennifer) of Scottsdale Arizona, Hugh P. “Mike” (wife, Sonja) of Jacksonville Illinois. He was preceded in death by one sister Patricia A. (husband, John) Roth and by his parents. He is also survived by numerous nieces/nephews, great nieces/nephews and great/great nieces/nephews, special friends Christian Rawlinson, Jaime Rawlinson, Kevin Hall, and Roger Missavage.
Mr. Craddock was a graduate of Routt Catholic High School and University of Illinois in Champaign, Illinois obtaining a PHD in Aeronautical Engineering. He was retired from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois after working in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department.
A celebration of life will be held at Blue Funeral Home in Marion, Illinois from 2pm to 4pm Saturday, February 15, 2014. There will be no graveside services afterwards.
