James Chapman

Marion-James R. Chapman, 87, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at his home. James was born on February 21, 1929 in East St. Louis, IL to Horace Glennwood and Marion Ray (Flynt) Chapman.  He married Ruby Maynard on October 4, 1999; she preceded him in death on December 18, 2012. James served in the US Army in the Korean Conflict.  He retired as General Manager/Vice President for the SI Power Co-Op.  James was a life member Ancient Fee and Accepted Masons of Illinois Metropolis Lodge 91. He loved to golf, fish, travel and mow his yard with his new zero turn.  James will be missed by all. Survivors include: Son-James R. Chapman, Jr. and wife Susan of Atlanta, GA Daughter-Nancy Chapman-McKenzie of Marion Son-John K. Chapman of Lake of Egypt Grandchildren: Robin and Randy Gary Rebecca and David Harris Jamie Chapman Brad and Amanda Dalton Amy McKenzie and Samuel Holley Grant and Ashley Davis Great grandchildren-Rachel Clark, Ryan Clark, Liam Harris, Brad Dalton, Hailey Dalton, McKenzie Dalton, Madlynn Dalton and Emma Davis He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruby and brother, Horace Glen Chapman, Jr. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 23, 2016 at 1pm at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Scott Kallem officiating.  Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will also be on Monday from 11am until the time of service at the funeral home.
