James Randall Anderson

James Randall "Randy" Anderson, age 59, of Stonefort, Illinois, passed away at 4:37pm on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Herrin Hospital.

James was born August 16, 1963 in Marion, Illinois, a son of James and Rita Jewell (Shadowens) Anderson. He married Tina Marie Stokes on December 6, 2014 at New Dennison Baptist Church. Prior to his retirement, Randy had worked as a janitor for Marion Unit Schools.

A strong belief in God, Randy was of protestant faith. He enjoyed camping and was an avid fisherman. He loved his family and time spent with them. Time spent with his grandchildren was most precious to him. He enjoyed his travels to Tennessee for family reunions.

He is survived by his wife- Tina Marie (Stokes) Anderson; six children- Chanda Slay, Dalton (Madison Penrod) Anderson, Billy Headrick-Hollenbeck, Colton Stokes, Tyson Stokes, and Heather (Duane Shell) Kahoun; eight grandchildren- Joshua Slay, Gabriel Kahoun, Trenton Kahoun, Shadoe Bonin, Tristan Shell, Whitlee Shell, Kimber Shell, and Gabriella Stokes; one grandson on the way- Kolby Anderson; four siblings- Roger Dale (Gayla) Anderson, Robert Wayne (Carol) Anderson, Olene Gayle Odom, Mary Jane (Denny) Morris; mother-in-law- Deloris Stokes; sister-in-law- Beth (Ron) Harris; brother-in-law-Dewayne (Barbara) Stokes; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents- Rita Jewell (Shadowens) and James Robert Anderson and one brother-in-law Jeffry Odom.

Visitation will be Friday, June 16th, 2023 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Funeral Service will be held Friday, June 16, 2023, 12:00 PM at Blue Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Coal Bank Springs Cemetery in Marion.
