James A. Brown Marion—James A. Brown, 89, of Marion passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 7:35 PM at Marion Rehab & Nursing Center. Funeral services for James will be on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Ralph Brandon officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, December 2, 2011 at the funeral Home. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Marion with Harrisburg & Carrier Mills American Legion performing Military Rites. Memorial donations are suggested to Passages Hospice and will be accepted during services. Envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent C/O Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, Il, 62959. Mr. Brown was born on Friday, October 27, 1922 in Williamson County to John Boucher & Minnie Ethel (Kelley) Brown. He married Geneva Shadowens on Sunday, December 27, 1942 in Cape Girardeau, MO; she preceded him on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 after 68 years of marriage. James is survived by his children, Diana & William Merrow of Marion, James D. & Karen Brown of Mississippi and Danny W. & Tonya Brown of West Virginia; grandchildren, Ronald Merrow, Michael Merrow, Becky Redd, Jason Brown, Brian Brown, Nathan Brown and Kelly Trout; sixteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.. He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Geneva; brother, Walter and sisters, Lena & Lillian. James was a retired automotive mechanic. He was known as a devoted father and grandfather.
