Jackie Lee Sullivan
Goreville - Jackie Lee Sullivan, 60, of Marion lost his earthly battle but won his heavenly reward at 8:15 PM July 28th, 2012. His loving wife, daughter and son in law, and son and daughter in law surrounded him as he began his glorious journey. His beloved grandsons, Joseph, Justice and Jace Ray were also near. Although he will be sadly missed, we celebrate his life and rejoice in the knowledge that he feels no more pain and his suffering has ended.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, August 1st, 2012 at 7pm at the Blue Funeral Home in Goreville. There will be a time of visitation from 5-7pm at the Funeral Home on the day of the service. Rev. Rick McNeely will officiate. The family wishes to thank everyone at Louredes Hospice for their loving care and compassion.
Mr. Sullivan was born at home in Goreville to Virgil Ray and Freeda Sullivan on January 27th 1952. He attended school and proudly lived his whole life in Goreville. He married Paula Jones on August 25th, 1972. He worked his family farm, and picked apples and peaches at age 9 for his friend Kenneth Webb. He worked at the Southern Illinois Stone and Dura Containers at the same time, and went to work at Old Ben Coal #24 in 1975. He also manages Bracys Grocery in Marion, IL. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and belonged to Valley of Southern Illinois and Ainad Temple in East Saint Louis, Illinois. He loved his family and friends; especially the times spent drinking coffee. He also enjoyed coon hunting with Tom Tripp and other friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Paula of Goreville; children, Jennifer & Joseph Patrick of Galatia and Jesse & Tasha Sullivan of Goreville; grandsons, Joseph, Justice and Jace Ray; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, two brothers, two sisters and an infant son.
