Jack D. Stanley Marion – Jack D. Stanley, 79, of Marion past away at 11:58 PM on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 5, 2010, at Blue Funeral Home in Marion, IL, with the Reverend Jerry Schell officiating. Visitation will be held from noon until 2:00 PM the same day. Burial will be at Coal Bank Springs Cemetery, with Military Rites conducted by VFW Post 1301, American Legion Post 147 and the National Guard. Jack was born July 23, 1931 in Kankakee to Clyde and Delphia (McNail) Stanley. He married Joyce Phillips on January 19, 1979 in Marion. She preceded him in death. Survivors include his children, Cathy & Carroll Keltner of Raleigh, Joel & Kathy Stanley of Eldorado, Jan & Chris Schimp of Eldorado, and Jacqui & Mike Hobbs of Oran, Missouri; grandchildren, Brandi Stanley, Matthew Keltner, Adam Stanley, Liza King, Ryan Schimp, Nicholas Keltner, Luke Schimp, Gabe Schimp, Taylor Hobbs, and Reed Hobbs; great-grandchild, Presli King; sister, Phyliss & Don Green of Georgia; and brother, Wayne Stanley of Marion. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Norma Signaigo; and nephew, Forest Signaigo. Jack served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was an avid horseman. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a history buff and loved to tell stories. He graduated with academic honors in undergraduate studies at SIU in 1962. Jack was proud of his kids and loved his family very much.
