MARION- Israel Jones, Sr., 88, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 8:57am at Marion Rehab and Nursing Center. Israel was born on March 14, 1926 in Marion to William and Belauh Jones. He married Anna Mae Griffin on June 26, 1948 in Marion. She preceded him in death on May 1, 2008. Israel was a long time resident of Marion and worked for city for several years. He attended Paul’s Chapel Church. Survivors his children, Ronald Gene Jones of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Robert K. and Earlie Jones of Marion, William Gregory Jones of Marion, Anthony Ray “Tony” and Donna Jones of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Kathy Jones of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Kimberly Ann Jones of Milwaukee, WI; and several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Israel Jones, Jr.; three sisters and seven brothers Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 1pm at Paul’s Chapel Church in Marion with Pastor Virgil Walton officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will also be on Tuesday from 11am until the time of service at the church.
