Iretta Wilkins

Iretta F. Wilkins MARION-Iretta F. Wilkins, 84, of Marion passed away at 11:35 AM, Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at Memorial Hospital in Springfield. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Mike Hood and Reverend Kevin Carrothers officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, January 29, 2010 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Iretta was born on January 3, 1926 in Scottsboro to Alex Samuel and Linnie (Canzadia) McCluskie. She married Raymond Lee Wilkins on November 2, 1946 in Herrin; he preceded her in death on January 5, 1997. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Larry Deaton; Raetta and Dale Lanningham and Pat and Chuck Estabrook; grandchildren, Crystal and Paul Gualdoni, Eric Deaton, Angela Lanningham, Ashleigh and Brian Stalets, Beth Ann Fields and B. G. Richey; great grandchildren, Michaella Gualdoni, Blake Gualdoni and Lexxus Deaton; and sister-in-law, Marie McCluskie. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Buster McCluskie and Herman McCluskie; sister, Lucille Hudgens; and an infant brother and infant sister. Iretta was a lifetime member of Scottsboro Baptist Church, where she was active as a Sunday School Teacher and Pianist. She worked for many years at Fox’s Flowers in Marion as a florist. She was a past member of the Eastern Star and the Airstream Association.
