Helen Louise Speers

Marion- Helen Louise Speers, 87, of Marion, passed away at 3:13 AM, Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Parkway Manor in Marion. Helen was born on August 21, 1928 in St. Louis, MO to Alvin and Louise (Schmitz) Keister. She was a homemaker and cared for her four children. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Marion. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, bingo, following her beloved St. Louis Cardinals and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include- Daughter- Peggy Bailey of Marion Son- Michael J. Speers of Gardner, KS Daughter- Pam Carter of Marion Son- Wade Speers and wife Tammie of Bixby, OK Seven grandchildren: Lyren Bailey of Marion Travis Bailey and wife Kara of Creal Springs Samuel Speers and wife Jessica of Spring Hill, KS Eric Speers of Manhattan, KS Thomas Speers of Manhattan, KS Colton Carter of Marion Taylor Carter of Marion Two great grandchildren: Tyler Speers of Spring Hill, KS Tanner Bailey of Creal Springs Numerous nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Burial will follow at Coal Bank Springs Cemetery in Creal Springs. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of service, Wednesday, at the funeral home.
