Marion-Helen Chamness, 93, passed away shortly before noon on Monday, December 2, 2013 at Marion Rehab & Nursing Center.
Helen was born on October 10, 1920 to Harry Garrison and Ida Mae (Hinchcliff) Turnage.
She was first married to George H. Pritchett on May 30, 1937. They were married eight years when George was killed in Germany during WWII on April 9, 1945. To this union were born three children: Carole, Janet and George Ronald.
Helen later married Ralph Chamness on December 15, 1947. He preceded her in death on May 2, 1985. To this union was born one son: Richard Dale Chamness.
Helen was the 2nd eldest of seven children born to Harry & Ida. She sold Avon for many years and was also a member of First Baptist Church in Creal Springs.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; son, George Ronald Pritchett on November 27, 2006; sisters, Bessie Simmons, Ruth Parker and Wilma Deaton and son-in-law, Virgil Robertson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Barry Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at Simmons Cemetery in Creal Springs. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 from noon until the time of service at the funeral home.
