Harry L. Jent JOHNSTON CITY-Harry L. Jent, 91, of Johnston City passed away at 2:15 AM, Sunday, April 26, 2009 at Parkway Manor Nursing Home in Marion. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Deon Walker and Reverend Kenneth Mcllaren officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of the service on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and the American Diabetes Association; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mr. Jent was born December 1, 1917 in Johnston City, Illinois to William and Sarah Ann (Williams) Jent. He married Ruth Daub on June 29, 1940 in Jackson, Missouri they shared 68 years of marriage together. Ruth survives. Survivors include his wife, Ruth of Johnston City; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy & Hugh Crane of Marion; grandchildren, Steven Crane and Katie Crane; several nieces and nephews; and several grand nieces and grand nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Jane & Jean Jent; sons, Ronald & Donald Jent; brothers, Estel Jent, Roy Jent, Algie Jent, Raymond Jent, and R.J. Jent; sisters, Mabel Biehl, Mae Dorris, and Frieda Ramsey. Mr. Jent was a loving grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. He was a member of Williams Prairie Baptist Church for over 70 years. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and collected pocket knives. He will be missed by all who knew him.
