Gregory D. Mandrell Marion - Gregory D. Mandrell, 51, of Marion, passed away at 5:24 PM on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at Heartland Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Jerry Schell officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 15, 2010 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Marion, IL. Gregory was born on June 20, 1959 in Marion, IL to Laurel D. & Wanda P. (Minton) Mandrell. He married Linda Estes on February 7, 1987 in Marion and together they shared 23 years of marriage. He is survived by his wife; mother, Wanda P. Mandrell; son, Jeremiah Scot Mandrell of Marion; daughters, Karrie J. & Kevin Harris of Creal Springs and Leslie D. & Joe Colvin of Marion; grandchildren, Haley Harris, Hunter Harris and Miah Mandrell; sister, Lisa Mandrell; brother; Jeff Mandrell; mother-in-law, Wanda P. Outlan of Carbondale; special cousin, Steve Mandrell; several nieces & nephews; several brothers-in-law; several sisters-in-law and aunts & uncles. Gregory was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Cecil Mandrell, Milo & Wilma Mifflin and Virgil & Thelma Minton. He was a member of the Walnut Hill Church, employed by the Williamson County Highway department as a truck driver and president of Coal Valley Water Board. Gregory was a member of Local 318 Operating Engineers Union and a member of the Pleasant Grove Cemetery Board. He loved to fish and will be missed.
