Gregory Dean Rothschild PITTSBURG-Gregory Dean Rothschild, 44, of Pittsburg passed away at 5:43 PM, Friday, December 14, 2007 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Steve Higgs officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday, December 17, 2007 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Memorials may be made to The Southern Illinois Christian Service Camp; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Greg was born on October 14, 1963 in Carbondale, Illinois to Charles and Paula (Groner) Rothschild. He married Rhonda Mezo on June 14, 1986 in Marion; together they shared 21 years of marriage. Survivors include his wife, Rhonda of Pittsburg; daughters, Paula Jean Rothschild and Sarah Ann Rothschild; his parents, Charles and Paula of Marion; brothers, Gary Rothschild and Steve Rothschild both of Marion; grandmother, Beulah Rothschild; nephew, Axson J. Rothschild; niece, Alexandra Rothschild; and his collie, “Holly”. Greg was a member of the Shiloh Christian Church, and had been raised in Parrish Park Christian Church. He served his country with United States Marine Corp. He previously worked as the Service Manager at Demaretti Car Dealership in West Frankfort for 13 years, and was recently employed with American Coal Company in Galatia. He loved hunting, working on his farm and sports. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan.
