Grace Wallace

Grace L. Wallace Herrin-Grace L. Wallace, 86, of Herrin passed away at 3:45 AM, July 13, 2006 at Herrin Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 15, 2006 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Edward “Shorty” Alsip officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, July 14, 2006 at the funeral home. Burial will be at McKinney Chapel Cemetery, south of Marion. Mrs. Wallace was born on June 15, 1920 in Williamson County, Illinois to Charlie and Effie (Baker) Newton. She married Charles Hudgens he preceded her in death on July 13, 1969. She later married William H. Wallace and he preceded her on death on December 23, 1978. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Carla Hudgens of Marion; daughter Shelby Arrowood of Marion; daughter and son-in-law, Melva and Bennie Arrowood of Marion; grandchildren, Billy and Jonas Hudgens, Jeri and Blake Summers, Donna and Bobby Brewer, Terry Roesch, Danny Jr. and Susan Arrowood, Kristina and Eric Johnson, Bennie Jr. and Julie Arrowood, Debbie and Bill Adamson, Barbara and Joey Deaton; great grandchildren, Emily Grace Hudgens, Talina Brewer, Bobbi and Jayson Ray, Kyle, Austin, and Macey Johnson, Candice, Steven, and Lisa Roesch, Miranda Smith, Christopher Nalley, Haley Deaton, Brandon Arrowood, Chelsie Adamson, Brodie Blades, Brandi and Ben Watts; great great grandchildren, Kylee Brewer, Nevaeha Campbell, and Zeb Watts; sister, Vada West of Marion. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; four sisters; and one brother. Mrs. Wallace was a member of McKinney Chapel Church. She loved to sew and cook. She also loved to spend time with her family especially her grandkids. She was a homemaker.
