Grand Chain-Gladys Stokes, 89, formerly of Goreville, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2016 at Hillview Healthcare.
Gladys was born on December 16, 1926 in Carterville to William and Margaret (James) Hindman. She married Kenneth Stokes in Piggott, AR on December 16, 1948 and he preceded her in death.
Gladys was the oldest living member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Villa Ridge. She enjoyed singing, loved fried chicken and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, three brothers; two sisters and granddaughter in law, Jill Childers.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 11am at Blue Funeral Home in Goreville with Rev. John Howat officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Carterville. Visitation will be on Friday, December 16, 2016 from 5pm-8pm at the funeral home.
