Gladys Reiter

August 27, 1923 — June 20, 2015

Marion-Gladys Reiter, 91, passed away at 4:10pm on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at her home. Gladys was born on August 27, 1923 in Chicago to Fred and Jenny (Lian) Madsen.  She married Frank “Bud” Deursch and he preceded her in death and then she married Alfred Reiter and he also preceded her in death. Gladys was Christian by faith; a great mother, grandmother, mother in law, wife and friend.  She was a member of The Moose and a diehard Cub fan.  Her hobbies included bowling, square dancing and pinochle.  Gladys loved to cook and spend time with family and friends. Survivors include: Children: Valerie Byrd of Mill Creek, IL Corrine Reiter of Bolingbrook, IL Alfred Reiter of Goreville, IL John Reiter of Frankfort, IL Laura and Mark Scaman of Ottawa, IL Tom and Judy Reiter of Bloomington, IL Stephen and Darla Reiter of Lake of Egypt, IL 11 Grandchildren 16 Great grandchildren Sister in law-Joe Madsen of Country Side, IL Janet Shill Several nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank and husband, Alfred and sons, Frank “Buddy” Deursch, Jr. and Douglas Reiter. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 3pm at the Lake of Egypt Christian Church with Rev.
