Gladys Mae Walker

Marion- Gladys Mae Walker, 93, of Marion, died at 2:38 PM, Monday, February 15, 2016 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Gladys was born on May 11, 1922 in Golconda to Otis and Leora (Seville) Jennings. She married Edward Earl Hodge in 1937 in Marion and he preceded her in death. She married Dale Walker in Marion in 1964 and he also preceded her in death. Gladys worked for 30 years as a factory inspector for Olin’s in the Ordill area until her retirement. She was a member of the Marion Third Baptist Church, Marion Senior Citizens, the HRMC Senior Circle and the Eagles Auxiliary. In her spare time, she enjoyed helping people in need, dancing, playing bingo and travelling to different places. Survivors include- Daughter- Barbara Hodge of Energy Granddaughter- JoLyn Hilliard of Nashville, TN Great Grandchildren- Britton, Bailey, Sydney and Jared Several close nieces, nephews and cousins She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, special friend- Virgil Clendenin, son- Charles Hodge, daughter- Shirley Parks and several brothers and sisters. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 19, 2016 at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Friends and family are asked to meet directly at the graveside. Rev. Don Colson will officiate. Funeral services were arranged by Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Memorial donations are suggested to the Marion Senior Citizens and will be accepted at Blue Funeral Home/ 1704 N. Court/ Marion, IL 62959.
