Marion Gertrude I. Tanner, 86, of Marion passed away at 10:30 PM on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at her residence. Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. Tanner will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 30, 2012 in Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion with Reverend Jeff Odom officiating. Friends and family are asked to meet at the gravesite. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with arrangements. Gertrude was born in Williamson County on Monday, October 12, 1925 to Jesse & Irva (Groves) Boles. She married Loren “Guy” Tanner on Sunday, August 27, 1944 in Osceola, AR; he preceded her in 1992. She is survived by her children, Sherry & Charles Miller of Fredericksburg, VA and David & Kathy Tanner of Marion; grandchildren, Angelia & James McGill of Denver, Rhonda & David Hunley of Fredericksburg, Joshua & Jodi Tanner of Pittsburg and Jennifer & Eric Wilson of Jacksonville; great-grandchildren, Rachel McGill, Caleb McGill, Jacob Hunley, Lucas Hunley, Abigail Hunley, Josie Tanner, Gage Wilson, Zachary Wilson and Alexis Wilson; sister, Nathalie Walker of Marion. Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Guy; sisters, Shirley Norman & Mary Ruth Odom and infant grandson, Eric Tanner. She formerly owned Fashions Crossroad Women’s Clothing store and enjoyed spending time with her family.
