Gerald Barton

Gerald L. Barton KARNAK-Gerald L. Barton, 59, of Karnak passed away at 3:35 PM, Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family. With respect with Gerald’s own personal wishes his body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Blue Funeral Home in Goreville is assisting the family. Gerald was born September 28, 1950 in Cook County to Denzil Gerald and Rosalie Jane (Losurdo) Barton. He married Vickie Craig on August 7, 2007 in Pulaski County. Survivors include his wife, Vickie Barton of Karnak; his children, Victoria Barton of Springfield, Immaculate Barton of Wickliffe, Kentucky, Geraldine and Gary Knight of La Center, Kentucky, Gerald Barton, Jr. of Kevil, Kentucky and Denzil Barton of Karnak; step-son, Cliff Dunn of Goreville; several grandchildren; and brothers and sister-in-law, Joseph Barton of Lemont and Bradley and Dee Barton of Pontiac. Gerald worked as a truck driver for 30 years. He served his country with the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with Denzil. The family would like to give special thanks to Lori, Dawn, Sheila, Norma and Hospice of Southern Illinois.
