Georgia McCormick

Carbondale-Georgia L. McCormick, 88, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at her home. Georgia was born on January 3, 1929 in Lesterville, MO to Guy and Beatrice Baker. She married Clyde R. Childers in 1946.  He preceded her in death in 1964.  On May 24, 1974 Georgia married Robert McCormick.  He preceded her in death on January 29, 2012.  They had a happy, successful marriage which included travels to many foreign countries, an activity they both enjoyed.  Georgia also enjoyed her gardening and flowers.  The attractiveness of her yard has been noteworthy. Survivors include: Children: Carolyn and Robert Murray of Carbondale Janet Smith and lifelong companion Bob Casper of Carbondale Clyde “Butch” and Rhonda Childers of Valier Step Children: Richard “Rick” and Jill McCormick of Richmond, VA Myron “Ron” McCormick of Pittsburg, PA Donna Rae McCormick of Madison, WI Brothers: Dale and Cora Baker Robert and Barbara Baker John Baker Ron and Joyce Baker Six grandchildren 5 great grandchildren 1 great great granddaughter Several nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands and brother, Guy Baker Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 11am at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Robbey Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Monday from 5pm-8pm at the funeral home.
