George Wright CRAB ORCHARD –George Wright, 82, of Crab Orchard passed away at 3:30 PM, Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at his home. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 7, 2008 at the Center Baptist Church in Crab Orchard with Reverend Sam White officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of the service on Sunday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Center Baptist Church building fund; envelopes are available at the church or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mr. Wright was born on May 15, 1926 in Union County, Illinois to James and Nona Helen (Green) Wright. He married Joan (Handkins) Wright on July 20, 1963 in Crab Orchard, Illinois. Survivors include his wife, Joan of Crab Orchard; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Judy Wright of Carbondale; son and daughter-in-law, Marshall and Elisha Wright of Desoto; Daughter and son-in-law Kimberly and Scott Barger of Crab Orchard, Teresa and Stephen Watson of Fairfax, Virginia, and Natalie Meadows of Marion; grandchildren, Michelle, Mike, Mark, Matthew, Cody, Jared, Derek Jordan, Rebecca, Christopher, James, Lindsey, Kayla, Sarah, Jedidiah, and Noah; Sister, Muriel Snyder of Cahokia, IL. Mr. Wright was a Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, a retired Dock Hand in the trucking industry, and a member of the Center Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Teamsters Union Local 710.
