George Winton, Jr.

Goreville-George Richard Winton, Jr., 70, passed away at 8:20pm on Friday, February 19, 2016 at the VA Medical Center. George was born on October 23, 1945 in Chicago to George Richard and Lucille (Billingsley) Winton. George served in Vietnam in the US Airforce. He was a loving father and grandfather.  George was a hard worker and was always working and keeping busy.  He loved his dog Paige, enjoyed boating, watching Nascar, and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his daughter, Lauren Hackett and husband Garrett; granddaughter, Audrey Hackett; his step-son James (Rebecca) Cheski, and his brother, Gary Doug (Sheryl) Winton of Crystal Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents. A celebration of George’s life will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the VFW in Creal Springs from 12pm-3pm.
