MARION-Genevieve James, 97, of Marion passed away at 4:35 PM, Monday, May 31, 2004 at Friendship Care Center in Herrin. Funeral services will private. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. James was born on June 12, 1906 in Marion, Illinois to Frank and Anna Mae (Chenowith) Harper. Survivors include grandchildren, Phillip W. and Cheryl Houston of Herrin, Randel B. Houston of Marion and Tina R. Neeley of Carbondale; great grandchildren, Heather Griffith, Candy Wright, Angela, Chasity, Tiffany, Johnnie, Justin, and Tina Neeley, Jerry Houston and Darla Norris; and eight great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Glendola Houston; and brothers, Dow and Roy Harper. Mrs. James retired from Norge where she worked in the payroll department. She was a member of the Marion First Baptist church for many years. She was the Southern Illinois Representative for Tupperware for 30 years
