Marion- Gale J. Olson, 70 of Johnston City, formerly of Marion, died at 4:55 PM, Friday, September 5, 2014 at her home. Gale was born on January 11, 1944 in Chicago to Frank J. and Doris (Kellogg) Beecher. She was a homemaker and enjoyed caring for others. She was an active member of The Church on the Way on Morgan Street in Marion. She attended both services on Sunday and prayer service on Wednesday. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her friends. Survivors include- Daughter- Tracy Studer and husband David of Herrin Son- Jason Olson and wife Lori of Marion Son- Clayton Olson and wife Stacy of Marion Son- Samuel Olson of Marion Six Grandchildren: Stepheney Studer of Herrin Matalin Olson of Marion Laney Olson of Marion Alexandria Olson of Marion Austin Olson of Phoenix, AZ Makenzie Olson of Marion Sister- Diana Loucks and husband Paul of Johnston City Sister- Sharon Townsen of Chicago Sister- Pamela Bentkowski of St. Joseph, MO Several nieces, nephews and cousins Close friend- Helen Wright of Marion She was preceded in death by her parents and one son- Eric Olson. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Rev. Joe McRoy will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be from 5-8:00 PM, Monday, September 8, 2014 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Memorial donations are suggested to the family and will be accepted at Blue Funeral Home/ 1704 N. Court St/ Marion, IL 62959.
