Fredrick Sherman “Fred” Walters MARION-Fredrick Sherman “Fred” Walters, 66, of Marion passed away at 2:05 PM, Saturday, November 24, 2007 at Memorial Hospital in Springfield, Illinois. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, November 29, 2007 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Geno Bloodworth officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Mr. Walters was born September 24, 1941 in St. Louis, Missouri to John and Lucy (Jackson) Walters. Survivors include his children, Robert and Tammy Walters of Marion, Christine and Albert “Geno” Bloodworth of Marion, Tammy Lynn and Tommy Cates of Desoto, Missouri, John Walters of Columbia, Missouri and Michael Walters of Park Hills, Missouri; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Terry and Jenny Walters and Jim and Donna Mansker; sisters and brother-in-law, Starlet and Bud Wade and Doris Strickland; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Walters was a musician; he entertained in Southern Illinois for many years.
