Freda Ruth Chaney MARION-Freda Ruth Chaney, 84, of Marion passed away at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 8, 2007 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Donald Eberhart officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 until time of the service on Saturday. Burial will be at Friendship Cemetery in Goreville. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mrs. Chaney was born November 14, 1923 in Creal Springs, Illinois to Fred and Myrtle Ruth (Wilcox) Buckner. She married Edward Cash, he preceded her in death on October 20, 1977; she later married Marvin Tignor, he preceded her in death on November 15, 1988; and she was currently married to James Chaney. Survivors include her husband, Jim of Marion; daughters and sons-in-law, Claudette and Leonard Quarta and Linda and Rich Howard all of Marion; stepchildren, Larry and Glenda Chaney, Peggy and Ron Jackson, Kathy and Tom Akins and Janice Callies; grandchildren, Kevin Quarta, Scott Quarta, Megan Quarta, Gretchen and Joe Marks, Ted Howard, Tommy Akins, Jamie Chaney, Rachel Callies, Jacob Callies, Scott Jackson and Shannon Price; great grandchild, Alexis Howard; aunt, Viola Stroube; and uncle, Steve Wilcox. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; and step-son, Tommy Cash. Mrs. Chaney was a member of the McKinney Chapel Church. She was a homemaker and a member of Eastern Star Chapter 1009 in Goreville. She loved country music and spending time with her grandchildren.
