Frances Estella Merrell

Frances Estella Merrell, age 83, of Carrier Mills, Illinois, passed away Monday, December 27, 2021 at Herrin Hospital.

Frances was born December 09, 1938 in East Peoria, Illinois, a daughter of Harold and Helen Grace (Brown) Harness. She married the love of her life, J. W. Merrell on August 17, 1957 in Peoria, Illinois. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Merrell was a homemaker. Gospel music was a big part of her life. She cherished the late night sings spent with her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all those that knew and loved her.

She is survived by two daughters, Debra Lynn McKinnis of Harrisburg, IL and Denise A. Moss of Pittsburg, IL; three grandchildren, Robbin (Robert) Andrews, James McKinnis, and Kathryn Moore; two siblings, Sharon (Dee) Starrick, and Harold Harness Jr., sister-in-law, Jackie Merrell, brother-in-law, David (Joyce) Merrell, sister-in-law, Judy Merrell, and sister-in-law- Darla York; and her Great grandchild, Jarred Davis, Great grandchild Ashtyn Moss-West, Great grandchild Gracelynn Andrews, Great grandchild Juliana Andrews, Great grandchild Zoe Moore, Great grandchild Maria Martinez, Special niece Sue Duty, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one son, Darrell Wayne Merrell.

Visitation will be Monday, January 3rd, 2022 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 3, 2022, 1:00 PM at Blue Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Ray officiating and Rev. Deon Baker assisting. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant- Poordo.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Special Olympics in honor of her son, Darrell.
