F. Leo Parks Goreville- F. Leo Parks, 80, of Goreville passed away at 10:15 AM, Saturday, March 3, 2007 at his home. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at Blue Funeral Home in Goreville with Pastor R. G. Null officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday, March 5, 2007 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Webb Cemetery in Tunnel Hill. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home P.O. Box 411 Marion, IL 62959. Mr. Parks was born on August 10, 1926 in Goreville to Archie Ward and Minnie (Bell) Parks. He married Doris Anna White on March 13, 1954 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kankakee, IL. She survives. He is survived his wife of Goreville; son Francis Leo Parks Jr. of Austin, Texas; sister, Juanita and husband Bill Kelley of Goreville, and sister Violet St. Aubin of Kankakee. He was preceded in death by his parents; son Joel Ward Parks; sister Janice Parks Trexler; brothers Archie Dale Parks and Harold Eugene Parks. Mr. Parks served in the Army and Air Force during World War II in the Philippines. He also served as a Village Trustee in Union Hill, IL for thirty years; he was a charter member of the Lions Club in Union Hill, IL and President of that organization for one year.
