Evelyn A. Kersten MARION-Evelyn A. Kersten, 92, of Marion passed away at 9:05 AM, Friday, June 29, 2007 at Country Acres in Marion. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 1, 2007 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Dr. Roger Perry officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 until the time of the service on Sunday. Burial and graveside services will be at 1:00 PM, Monday, July 2, 2007 at Fairmont Park in Willow Springs. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or Aldersgate United Methodist Church; and may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mrs. Kersten was born August 1, 1914 in Chicago, Illinois. She married Melvin Wayne Kersten on June 18, 1932; he preceded her in death on October 14, 1973. Survivors include three sons, Mel of Marion, David of Medina, Ohio and Gary of Peoria, Arizona; six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and one great great grandchildren. Mrs. Kersten was a graduate of Chicago Schools and was recently a resident of Marion. She was a loving mother and a friend to all who met her. The family extends their sincere thanks to the caring and loving staff at both Country Acres and Hospice of Southern Illinois and to Dr. Jack Keller.
