Eva Pauline Segers Kelley

Eva Pauline (Segers) Kelley, 91, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2020 at Herrin Hospital.

Pauline was born on March 17, 1929 to Delia Tanner and Douglas Holmes.  She married Elmer “Jr.” Segers on February 18, 1946 and had three sons: Myrl Wendell, James Elbert and Gregory Deon.  Her husband and first-born son preceded her in death. Pauline remarried Charles Ray Kelley on October 17, 1998 and he preceded her in death in 2005.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; son, Wendell; four brothers, Ralph Holmes, Ray Holmes, Gilbert Holmes and Lawrence Holmes; two sisters, Lola Ruth Holmes and Robbie (Holmes) Odom; husbands, Elmer “Jr.” Segers and Charles Ray Kelley.

She leaves behind her loving sons, James Elbert Segers and fiancé Lori Schemonia and Greg Deon Segers and wife Dianne; three grandchildren, Brad and Amanda Segers, Shelly and Brent Cain and Tally and Joe Taylor; six great grandchildren, Kaylee Barnes, Beau Barnes, A.J. Segers, Ava Segers, Zane Cain and Bobby Taylor; one great-great grandchild, Remi Harris; her sister, Emma Bell Laningham and her spoiled cat, Tommy.

Pauline will be remembered by her grandchildren for their many camping trips all summer long.  She made the best fried chicken and pies along with blackberry dumplings.  Pauline loved telling stories, some she made up as she told them, her wonderful sense of humor and an undying love for her family and friends.  She loved the Lord and lead a Christian life, always ready to give to anyone in need.  Pauline loved to travel, cook, dance and met life with a smile.  She leaves this life with a piece of all our hearts and will be greatly missed.

There will be a private graveside service for her immediate family only and arrangements are pending her cremation.  Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, you may donate to her favorite foundation, St. Jude’s Cystic Fibrosis or another organization of your choice.  Donations will be accepted at the funeral home.
