Eva Maxine Powell

Maxine Powell OZARK-Maxine Powell, 72, of Ozark passed away at 1:45 PM, Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 8, 2007 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Shorty Alsip and Jeff Treat officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, September 7, 2007 at the funeral home. Burial will be at New Salem Cemetery in Creal Springs. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mrs. Powell was born November 8, 1934 in Johnson County to Earl and Marie (Mounce) Colboth. She married Zane Powell and he preceded her in death in 1988. Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law Brenda and Don Treat of Ozark; brother Larry Colboth of West Frankfort; brother and sister-in-law Tom and Linda Colboth of Creal Springs; sister and brother-in-law Jan and Robert Carter of Dongola; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, step-mother Ruth Colboth, sister Joy Mangum, brothers Wendell, Jimmy, and Buckshot Colboth. Mrs. Powell was a member of the Spillertown Baptist Church; she and husband Zane were also the former owners and operators of the Devils Kitchen Boat Dock.
