Eva Lou Murphy Marion- Eva Lou Murphy, 78, of Marion passed away at 2:46 PM on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at her home. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2011 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Blue Funeral Home in Marion. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2011 directly following the visitation with Reverend Paul Lee officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL, 62959. Eva was born on September 17, 1932 in Pittsburg, IL to Vernell & Ann (Davis) Williams. She married Billy Joe Murphy on February 25, 1950 in Williamson County, IL; he preceded her on August 24, 2006. She is survived by her children, Donald Edward & Betsy Murphy, Jennifer Jo Hoyle, Regina Kay & Fred Blades, all of Marion, Steven Lynn & Annette Murphy of Rogersville, MO, and Bryan Vernell Murphy and special friend, Tina Hayton of Paducah, KY; grandchildren, Megan & Shawn Sullivan, Matthew & Ashley Murphy, Eddie Wayne Murphy, Cody Hoyle, Sara Hoyle, Brandon & Lindsay Blades, Amanda Blades and Kasey Brooke Murphy; great-grandchildren, Brock Blades, Bailey Blades, Kaysha Chaney, Aaliyah Blades, Landon Hoyle, Madilyn Hoyle, Rylei Adams and Maverick Smiley; sister, Carma Williams. Eva was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy Joe; brothers, Carl Dean Williams and Alvin Allen “Buster” Williams; great-grandchild, Morgyn Johnson. Eva formerly worked for Barney Boren in the Williamson County Clerk’s Office. She also previously managed and served at the Williamson County Airport Restaurant. Eva was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed fishing and traveling with her husband Billy before he passed, and was known for being a wonderful cook.
