Elsie V. McDonald

PITTSBURG-Elsie V. McDonald, 76, of Pittsburg, passed away at 4:32 AM, Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 23, 2005 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with her son, Reverend Kenneth McDonald officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Friday, April 22, 2005 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant `Poordo` Cemetery, Poordo. Mrs. McDonald was born on June 17, 1928 in Christian County, Illinois to George Washington and Bonnie (Jefferies) Blanton. She married L. D. McDonald on June 21, 1943 in Casey County, Kentucky and he survives. Other survivors include her children, Leon Dale and Sharon Kay McDonald, Sherry Diane Fiveash, Michael James McDonald, Kenneth Eugene and Nancy Sue McDonald, and Daniel E. McDonald all of Pittsburg; twelve grandchildren, Kevin Fiveash, Mark and Gloria Fiveash, Tammy and Jeff Whitehead, Tim McDonald, Greg and Becky McDonald, Joey McDonald, Teresa McDonald, Kenneth, Jr. and Genny McDonald, Jennifer Diane & Shane Skelton, Dana and Ronnie Webb, Scarlet McDonald and Maxwell McDonald; several great grandchildren; brother, Gene Blanton of Ohio; and two sisters, Deloris Cooley of Texas and Martha Elmore of Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter; and one sister. Mrs. McDonald was a member of the Mt. Pleasant `Poordo` Freewill Baptist Church. She loved to camp and knit. She was a homemaker and mother and dedicated her life to her family.
