Elmer Dailey MARION-Elmer Dailey, 87, passed away at 3:45 AM, Friday, November 27, 2009 at Parkway Manor nursing home in Marion. Funeral services will be at held at 11:00 AM, Monday, November 30, 2009 at the Community of Faith Church just west of Marion, with Reverend Todd Greiner officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, November 29, 2009 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Burial will be at Herrin City Cemetery in Herrin following the funeral. Memorials may be made to Community of Faith Church; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Elmer was born on March 23, 1922 in Bush, IL to Ross and Mabel (Miner) Dailey. He married Juanita Crider and they enjoyed many years of marriage. Survivors include his wife, Juanita of Marion; daughter, Paula Szychlinski of Montgomery, IL; Step sons, Larry Crider of Marion and Randy Crider of Marion; Grand Children, Jon and Shawnda Szychlinski, Kelly and Corey Walsh, Brandon Crider, Chelsey Crider, Alyssa Crider, Heather and Jesse Reed, and Doug Crider; Great Grand Children, Carter Walsh, Ethan Walsh, and Logan Wyatt Reed; sisters, Irene Rogers, and Jenniemae and Bill Alexander; survivors also include many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Charles, Leo, and Edward Dailey; and son-in-law, Jon Szychlinski. Elmer was a switchman for the railroad for many years. He was a member of Community of Faith Church, Enjoyed Fishing, Traveling, and doing volunteer work at the area prisons.
