Elizabeth L. “Betty” Richey MARION-Elizabeth L. “Betty” Richey, 82, of Marion passed away Thursday, February 22, 2007 at St. Louis University Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 3, 2007 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Michael Newbert officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, March 2, 2007 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rose HIll Cemetery in Marion. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Women’s Group; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mrs. Richey was born January 3, 1925 in West Plains, Missouri to Matthew and Addie Lee (Tyner) Adams. She married Ralph V. Richey; he preceded her in death on September 16, 1995. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Marsha L. and Sonny Wilson of Lenexa, Kansas; grandchildren, Matthew Blake and Carolyn Wilson and Bryce Christian Wilson; great grandchildren, Zachary and Jacob Wilson and Jaden Amack; brother, Roger Adams of West Plains, Missouri; sisters-in-law, Marlene Richey and Juanita Richey both of Marion; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two brothers, Harry Joe Adams and Richard M. Adams. Mrs. Richey was a longtime and very active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Marion. She was a homemaker, avid seamstress including quilts, antique collector, she loved to restore antique furniture and she loved to garden. The family would like to thank all of the many friends who have shown much love to Betty over the past several years. She will be greatly missed.
