Effie Barwick

Pittsburg- Effie Jean Barwick, 83, of Pittsburg, passed away at 9:47 AM, Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Effie Jean was born on August 29, 1929 in Del Hi, CA to Willie and Della Kate (Mitchell) Thweatt. She was an active member of Walnut Hill Freewill Baptist Church having taught Sunday school for many years. She worked in admissions at Marion Memorial Hospital for many years. After her retirement she still volunteered her time with the Hospital Auxiliary at Marion Memorial and then later at Heartland Regional Medical Center. In her spare time she enjoyed quilting, puzzles, and traveling when she was able. Survivors include; Son—Ed & Darla J. Barwick of Marion Daughter—Debra Hoffard of Marion Daughter—Connie Penna of Marion 5 Grandchildren—Valerie Jean Anderson of Marion Jason Barwick of Benton Caleb Hoffard of Marion Amanda Hoffard of Lynchburg, Virginia Justin Lunsford of Crab Orchard Great Grandchildren—Megan & Nicholas Hoffard Eden & Cade Anderson Sister—Clorice Kent of Cherokee Village, Arkansas Sister—Maxine Sprague of Marion Several Nieces & Nephews She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Keith Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Visistation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday at Blue Funeral Home. For those who prefer memorial donations may be made to Hospital Auxiliary at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
