Edwin Hetzel

Marion Edwin J. Hetzel, 71, of Marion died at 6:00 PM at Heartland Regional Medical Center. Mr. Hetzel was born in Racine, WI on October 12, 1940 to Kenneth & Agnes (Babe) Hetzel. He married Dianne Hunter in Racine on October 7, 1966; they shared nearly 46 years together. He is survived by his loving wife, Dianne; children, Kenneth Hetzel of Byron and Lisa Hetzel of Rockford. Mr. Hetzel retired from General Dynamics in 2004 as a Quality Control Engineer. Not only did Edwin show bravery by serving in the US Airforce, he displayed the ultimate act of courage when he passed away by donating his vital organs to others in need. As per his wishes, after the donation procedure is complete, his body will be cremated and no services will be held. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with arrangements.
